I would like to announce a change in the Council
Commissioner position. Russell DeVore has agreed to take over the
position of Council Commissioner beginning September 1. I want to thank
Robert Orner for serving as Columbia-Montour Council Commissioner these
past 6 years. It has been one of the many positions Robert has served
in his 47 year Scouting career with Columbia-Montour Council. It has
been my pleasure as Council President to work with Robert and appreciate
the help he has given to the units of our council. We certainly owe
him a debt of gratitude for the service he has given not only to our
Council but more importantly to the boys and girls that make up our
council. We look forward to his continuing service in the future. Many
thanks to Bob for everything he has done.
Lost & Found from Camp Lavigne has arrived at the Council Office. It will be available until the end of September. Any items left over will be donated to the Salvation Army.

Paul B. Knox has been named Scout Executive for the Columbia-Montour Council, Boy Scouts of America, effective June 6, 2011.
“We are pleased to have Paul join Columbia-Montour Council,” said Dale Neiderhiser, Council president. “With his 12 years of leadership experience in professional scouting, he is well prepared to serve the more than 1,700 scouts and the scouting volunteers of Columbia-Montour Council.”
As the Scout Executive, Knox will serve as the Council’s chief executive officer, responsible for all facets of administering and delivering the Boy Scout program. He succeeds Marcel Cinquina, who became the Scout Executive of the Northeast Pennsylvania Boy Scout Council in March.
Since 2008, Knox has served with the Twin Rivers Boy Scout Council in Albany, N.Y., as the director of development and the director of field services. Before joining Twin Rivers Council, he had served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the Green Mountain Boy Scout Council, Waterbury, Vt.
An Eagle Scout and a graduate of the University of Vermont, Knox was elected to three terms in the Vermont House of Representatives.
