Bloom Fair Service Project

Bloomsburg Fair - Senior Citizens Day Service

Scouts from our council have once again been asked to help with Senior Citizen Day at the Fair Grounds on Monday, September 23, 2019 on the 2019 Bloomsburg Fair.  Our task is to help assist people off the buses that arrive at Gate 3 between 8:30 am and 12 noon.  The buses arrive so quickly that the elderly and handicapped can’t get off fast and safely enough.  The Fair Association has requested that the Scouts do a good turn by participating in this event. Kent Robbins and Ed Dilg will be the adult advisors heading up this community service project.  Scouts and Adult leaders interested in participating in this great community service project must be in full and complete field (“class A”) uniform, no exceptions!!

As a safety precaution all Scouts must be at least 14 years of age, as we are dealing with very large buses and heavy congested traffic.

Please join us! As most of you know, when Kent and Ed get together we always have a “GREAT SCOUTING TIME”.

  • Youth must be 14 or older to participate.
  • All Scouts/Scouters must pre-register online by Tuesday, September 17, 2019 to participate.
  • All participants must remain at the activity for the entire time, 8:15am-Noon. Please be prompt for drop-off and pick-up.
  • If you wish to eat breakfast there, meet at Gate 3 at 7 am.
  • A parent of participants ages 14-17 must speak in person with Kent prior to leaving the activity at Noon. Youth providing their own transportation must bring a note from a parent giving permission for the Scout to participate.

This is a very humbling community service project.  We hope to see you there.

In Scouting,

Kent Robbins
