Camp Flood Cleanup Day

UPDATE - Camp Lavigne Post-Flood Cleanup Workdays

As most of you are aware, our beloved Camp Lavigne suffered significant damage during the recent flood.  Thanks to all who have helped so far to cleanup the camp and restore it to a useful state and it's natural beauty, but unfortunately, more work is needed.

UPDATE:

Work days will continue every Saturday from Sept 22 through October 13th.
Adults and youth (Boy Scout age: 12 years and up) are encouraged to attend.

8 am until 3 or 4 pm

Lunch will be provided.

NOTE: Although registration is not required, it would be appreciated if any units or large groups would contact either Kent or Chris so we can make sure that we have enough food for lunch.

Due to the condition of the footbridge, you'll want to take the service road into camp; we advise you not to walk on the footbridge.

If you have them, please bring:

-Chainsaws

-Trucks w/trailers (to haul things like wood and picnic tables)

-Any earth-moving equipment (bulldozers, front-loaders etc.) would also still be really helpful

-Other handy tools/equipment that you might have

-Work gloves

-Electrical tools

-Carpentry Tools

Most of the mud has been cleaned up, and picnic tables / platforms have been rescued from trees.
However brush still needs to be collected and burned and roads still need some repair,
and there are still lots of miscellaneous chores to be done to get the camp in shape for Wine Fest.

In addition, we need carpenters to repair picnic tables among other projects.

We look forward to seeing a vast multitude of volunteers at these workdays.
Remember many hands make light work.
