2021 National Scout Jamboree - Youth Registration now FULL

UPDATE: Our council's contingent to the 2021 National Scout Jamboree at The Bechtel Summit Reserve is now FULL.  Now that we have 36 Scouts registered, we will begin putting names on a waiting list. The waiting list will be used to fill any spots that open up in the troop before 2021.

If there is enough interest (if the list gets long enough), we will see about getting approval for a second troop or part of a second troop.  We will make sure EVERYONE who wants to go to the Jamboree will go.  Remember a $250 fee is required to hold a place

We will also be looking for additional leaders if we assemble a second troop or a partial troop.

REMINDER to all CURRENTLY REGISTERED SCOUTS:  We will start collecting $100 per month beginning January 2020 until March 2021.

The 2019 World Jamboree has concluded with about 45,000 Scouts from all over the world attending.
It was truly an amazing event!

Plans are now underway for the 2021 National Jamboree which will be held at The Bechtel Summit Reserve, in southern West Virginia, from July 21 to July 30, 2021 and will have about 40,000 Scouts
from the USA in attendance.

It is not too early for individual Scouts to start thinking about this national event that only occurs every 4 years. Most Scouts only have one opportunity in their lifetime to attend a National Jamboree as a youth.

The Columbia-Montour Council will be sponsoring at least one contingent of 36 Scouts and 4 Leaders to attend the jamboree, and more, if there is enough youth and adult leader interest.  Volunteers are also going to be solicited to work on staffing the event.  The Council has organized a committee to coordinate our participation.  The committee has begun its work by developing a budget and selecting leaders.  The leaders will be chosen in time to allow the proper planning and training to occur.

The cost will be about $1750. A $250 deposit will be required as a downpayment at the time of registration. Signing up now will allow time to earn the balance of money toward the cost.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE for our council contingent is to depart early on July 20 and return late on July 30

Scouts will need to be at least 13 and First Class rank, but not yet 18 on July 21, 2021 to attend as a Scout..
The Council is also forming lists for venturers and female scouts.

Positions will be reserved for individuals on a first come, first chosen basis once the deposit has been made.

Join this exciting event for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
